Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 ounces sago
  • 4 1/4 cups milk 250ml + 750ml
  • 1 3/4 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 7/16 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons custard powder
  • 1/8 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • cinnamon sugar to taste

Directions

    Add all the sago to 250ml milk in a deep 3.5l microwave safe bowl. I usually use a glass bowl.

    Microwave it for 2 and a half minutes on high.

    Take the bowl out and mix thoroughly. Leave to stand for at least 1 hour. You can leave it for several hours if you need to, but at least 1 hour.

    Add the butter or margarine as well as the remaining 750ml milk to the mixture.

    Microwave for 15 minutes on high, mixing every 5 minutes.

    In a separate bowl beat the eggs, flour, custard powder, salt and water together thoroughly.

    Add the egg mixture to the Sago mixture and mix.

    Microwave it for 6 minutes on high, mixing every 3 minutes.

    Serve hot with cinnamon sugar sprinkled over to taste.

    To reheat later : add small amount of milk, reheat in microwave, then mix thoroughly.
