  • 12 slices sandwich bread
  • sharp cheddar cheese 1 cup grated med.
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons butter soft
  • 5 beaten eggs slightly
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups diced chicken finely, or ham

Directions

    Make a filling of the chicken, onion, mayonnaise, and half the cheese.

    Make 6 sandwiches by spreading one side of bread with butter and then the filling.

    Place sandwiches in a greased baking dish.

    Combine eggs, milk, and salt; pour over the sandwiches.

    Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours.

    Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.

    Sprinkle remaining cheese 10 minutes before end of baking time.
