Ingredients
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 c. milk, scalded and cooled
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. Crisco, melted
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 5 to 6 c. regular flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 teaspoon sugar.

2In a large bowl put 3 cups flour; stir in milk, sugar, Crisco, baking powder, salt and egg.

3Mix until smooth.

4Add yeast mixture and enough flour to make dough easy to handle.

5Turn dough onto floured board and knead for 5 minutes until smooth.

6Place in a greased bowl and let rise in a warm place, about 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in bulk.

7Divide dough in 3 parts.

8Place 1/3 dough on floured board and roll into an oblong shape, approximately 1/2 inch thick.
