Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, chilli infused
- 1 kg ground beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra
- 2 onions, finely diced
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 3 fresh tomatoes, diced
- 2 (500 g) jars pasta sauce
- 3 (440 g) cans diced tomatoes
- 1 (400 g) can condensed tomato soup
- 1 tablespoon beef stock, paste
- 12 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 bunch fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano, use fresh if you have it on hand
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons nutmeg
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 2 teaspoons dried chili pepper flakes
- 1 cup butter
- 1 12 cups plain flour
- 8 cups skim milk
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 cup tasty cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- salt
- pepper
- 1 kg lasagna sheet, uncooked
- 2 cups parmesan cheese, shredded
Directions

1MEAT SAUCE:.

2Heat 2TB chilli infused olive oil in a large frying pan.

3Lightly brown beef (don't fully cook the beef!)

4Transfer to the slowcooker.

5Heat 2 TBoil in pan, lightly cook onions and garlic until just soft.

6Add to slow cooker.
-
7Add all other meat sauce ingredients, and cook on high for at least 4 hours.

8Remove lid for last 30 minutes to reduce liquid if needed.

9Remove bay leaves.

10Set aside to cool.

11BECHAMEL SAUCE:.

12Melt butter in a large microwave safe bowl.

13add flour and whisk until smooth.

14Microwave 1 minute.

15Whisk.

16Slowly whisk in milk, microwave for 5 minutes.

17Whisk.
-
18Whisk in eggs, and microwave for 2 minutes.

19Whisk.

20Add cheeses, nutmeg, salt, and pepper, whisk.

21Microwave for 2 minutes.

22Whisk, and microwave in 1 minute intervals until thick.

23Whisk after every minute to keep sauce smooth.

24TO ASSEMBLE:.

25Grease 2 large baking dishes or lasagne dishes.

26Add a spoonful of tomato sauce to the bottom, and spread around.

27Add a layer of pasta.

28Add a layer of meat sauce.

29Top with a layer of bechamel sauce.

30Add a second layer of pasta.
-
31Add another layer of meat sauce.
-
32add a third layer of pasta.
-
33Top with remaining bechamel sauce, and sprinkle with parmesan.

34Bake at 180C for around 30 minutes, or until browned on top.

35Remove from oven and let stand for 20 - 30 minutes.

36Cut into slices and serve with garlic bread and a green salad.
