- 3 lb eye round, beef
- 1 cup white wine
- 1 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/3 cup juniper berries
- 12 large bay leaf
- 1/3 cup whole pepper corns
- 1 tsp fresh ground nutmeg
- 1/3 cup whole cloves
- 1 tsp salt
- 18 old fashion gingersnaps
Directions

1Trim the fat off the beef.

2To a nonreactive container add meat spices vinegar and wine.

3Cover put in the refrigerator for 7 days and let it marinate.

4Turn every day.

5After the meat is removed from the marinade and dried, in a roasting pan brown the meat in oil or lard.

6then braise it with the strained marinade in the roasting pan on the stovetop.

7Let it cook 4 hours.

8Remove the meat from the cooked marinade add gingersnaps, crushed, to thicken.

9After its thickened slice the sauerbraten and serve with sauce hope you enjoy
