- 2 tsp. salt
- pepper
- 2 c. vinegar
- 2 c. water
- 1/2 c. sliced onion
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. peppercorns
- 1/4 c. sugar
Directions

1Rub meat with a cut surface of garlic, salt and pepper.

3Heat vinegar, water, onion, bay leaves, peppercorns and sugar together, but do not boil.

4Pour hot mixture over meat; cover bowl and let stand in cool compartment of refrigerator 4 to 8 days, turning meat each day.
