Sausage and Rice Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb mild sausage
  • 12 cup butter
  • 1 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 (2 1/4 ounce) package chicken noodle soup mix
  • 1 cup rice
  • 4 12 cups water, boiling

Directions

    Fry the sausage and remove from the skillet saving the remaining grease.

    To the same skillet, add the pepper, onion, butter and mushrooms and saute for 5 minutes.

    Cook the soup and the rice in the boiling water for 20 minutes.

    Add all remaining ingredients and serve.

    If cold, reheat in a 350* oven for 20 minutes.
