Sausage Breakfast Casserole

  • 6 slices bread
  • butter
  • 1 lb. pork sausage
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard (optional)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

    Remove crust from bread; spread with butter on both sides. Place in a 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Cook sausage until crumbly; drain well.

    Spoon sausage over bread; sprinkle with cheese.

    Combine eggs, milk, salt and dry mustard; mix well and pour over cheese. Cover pan; chill overnight.

    Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes, or until set.
