Ingredients

  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 lb. sausage, at room temperature

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients; cut in shortening.

    Add milk and mix well.

    Knead on lightly floured board until dough can be handled easily.

    Divide dough in half and roll one-half inch thick. Divide sausage in half and spread dough.

    Roll in jelly fashion. Chill.

    Slice and bake at 350° until brown and meat is done.
