Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 3 1/2 to 4 lb. chuck roast
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 6 medium potatoes, quartered
  • 6 carrots, cut in 2-inch pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

    In Dutch oven in hot oil, brown roast.

    Spoon off fat and add mushroom soup, onion soup mix and 1 cup of water.

    Cover and cook over low heat for 2 hours.
