  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 3 1/2 to 4 lb. round or chuck roast
  • 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 pouch dry onion soup mix
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 6 medium potatoes (5 1/2 c.)
  • 6 carrots, cut in 2 inch pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

    In 6-quart saucepan, in oil, brown roast on all sides; spoon off fat.

    Add vegetables.

    Stir in mushroom and onion soups and 1 cup water.

    Reduce heat to low, cover.

    Cook 45 minutes or until vegetables and meat are tender.
