Scalloped Onions

- 2 to 3 lb. white or yellow onions
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- pinch of pepper
- pinch of nutmeg
- 1 can chicken broth
- 2 c. bread crumbs
- Swiss cheese
- Parmesan cheese
Directions

1Peel and dice onions.

2Put in heavy pan with margarine.

3Cook until onions are tender, about 10 minutes.

4Add flour, salt, pepper, nutmeg and broth.

5Cook until onions are a thickened sauce, approximately 5 minutes.

6Pour into shallow casserole.

7Add bread crumbs.

8Layer with Swiss cheese and sprinkle Parmesan over this.

9Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
