- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/4 c. cracker crumbs
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of cayenne
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 qt. fresh oysters
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Grease a 2-quart casserole or 6 to 8 individual casseroles.

3Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

4Remove from heat; add flour and stir until smooth.

5Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes or until light brown.

6Add paprika, salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic, onion and green pepper.

7Cook 3 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

8Add oysters and their liquid, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.

9Sprinkle with cracker crumbs.

10Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.

11Serves 6 to 8.
