Scalloped Tomatoes

  • 1 qt. cooked tomatoes
  • 1/4 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Cook celery, onion and green pepper until tender.

    (Cook in saucepan.)

    Add tomatoes.

    Place in square casserole and cover with 1-inch square buttered bread with crusts removed (bread has been toasted).

    Bake in 400° oven until delicately brown.
