  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 c. coarse soft bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 (28 oz.) cans tomatoes, drained and cut up

Directions

    Saute onions in margarine until tender.

    Stir in bread crumbs, sugar, salt and pepper.

    Set aside.

    Arrange half of the tomatoes in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

    Top with half of crumb mixture. Repeat layers.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
