  • 3 12 cups plain flour
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 34 cup buttermilk
  • 34 cup milk
  • 1 cup jam or 1 cup honey

Directions

    Place flour, sugar and baking powder in a large bowl.

    Make well in the centre, gradually add both milks.

    Stir till well combined.

    Turn onto lightly floured surface, divide into 8 pieces.

    Roll each piece into a 20 cm length.

    Wrap around a stick.

    Cook over hot coals, not flames, turning for 10 - 15 minutes.

    T o serve, remove scone from stick.

    Spoon jam or honey downthe centre.
