- 1 c. (2 sticks) butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream butter.

2Gradually add sugar; beat until light and fluffy.

3Combine flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Blend well.

4Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 11 x 17-inch rectangle 1/2-inch thick.

5Cut into 1-inch squares or diamonds.

6Transfer to cookie sheets.

7Prick cookies with a fork. Bake in preheated 300° oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned.

8Remove immediately to wire racks to cool.

9Yields about 70.
