- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Beat the butter until it is light and creamy.

2Beat in 1/2 cup sugar.

3Sift the flour with the salt and baking powder.

4Fold into butter mixture.

5Place the dough on a cookie sheet and pat into a rectangle, 1/2-inch thick and approximately 4 x 10-inches in size.

6Mark into 1 x 2-inch bars.

7Sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and bake in center of 350° oven for 15 minutes.

8Cut into bars and store in an airtight container.
