  • 2 tsp. baking powder (1 Corinthians 5:6)
  • 3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves, allspice and nutmeg (1 Kings 10:10)
  • 1/2 c. milk (Judges 4:19)
  • 1/2 c. blanched almonds (Genesis 43:11)
  • 1/2 c. chopped dried figs (1 Samuel 30:12)
  • 1/2 c. chopped seeded raisins (1 Samuel 30:12)

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add egg yolk and honey.

    Sift dry ingredients and spices together.

    Add to mixture alternating with 1/2 cup milk.

    Fold in beaten egg whites, then add almonds, figs and raisins.

    Pour into well-greased lightly floured bread loaf pan.

    Bake at 350° for 40 to 60 minutes until test straw comes out clean.
