Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Boil sugar, corn syrup and water together until it will form a hard ball when dropped in cool water.

    Beat egg whites and salt at high speed for 3 minutes in a large bowl.

    Pour syrup slowly into beaten egg whites while beating at medium speed.

    Continue beating until mixture passes the glossy state.

    Add nuts and vanilla and continue beating until it forms a peak when beater is raised. Pour on buttered platter or drop on waxed paper.
