Serbian Vanilla Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 whole egg & 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 3/8 cups plain flour
  • 1 tea
  • 1 crust lemon, grinded
  • apricot jam for filling & grounded sugar for sprinkling

Directions

    Combine together butter and sugar, mix them well with a mixer until sugar dissolve's, add whole egg and egg yolk, vanilla, lemon, mix again and then mix the flour until becomes thick.

    Leave it to rest a bit than take a rolling pin, roll the though about half of cm and cut out shapes you like, hearts, stars, flowers etc.

    Bake it in a tin for 10 min's at about 180 C until lightly golden.

    Let them cool then fill them with apricot jam, gluing one to another, making filled biscuits.

    Sprinkle with sugar for a nicer presentation and keep it in a metal box.
