  • cornstarch, enough to coat chicken
  • peanut oil, enough to deep fry chicken cubes
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sugar
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 1-inch piece of fresh ginger root, finely grated
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) to 1 tsp (5 ml) sesame oil
  • chopped green onions for garnish
