Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 5 Tbsp. water
  • 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 6 large marshmallows, cut in small pieces
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Put all ingredients, except vanilla, in top of boiler.

    Stir until well mixed.

    Place over simmering, but not boiling, water. Cook, beating constantly with electric mixer at high speed, for about 7 minutes, or until icing becomes stiff and glossy.

    Remove from heat and add vanilla.

    Stir until blended.
