Shirred Eggs

  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 12 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 13 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese

Directions

    Preheat oven to 325F.

    Melt butter in a small pan.

    Put 1 tsp in to each baking cup and swirl to coat the bottom and sides.

    Crack each egg into a buttered cup and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

    Bake for 6 minutes, or until the eggs are almost set.

    Sprinkle on the grated cheese and bake 2-3 more minutes.

    Tip and tilt cup, if egg white is set and opaque, it is done.
  8. 8
    Remove eggs from cups with a small spoon and serve.
