Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1 Tbsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    Mix together flour, sugar and shortening until crumbly; reserve 1 cup.

    Add to the rest of the crumb mixture: water, molasses, soda and salt.

    Put in a large greased pan.

    Put the reserved one cup of crumbs on top of mixture and bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
