  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 c. New Orleans molasses (Brer Rabbit or Grandma Molasses)
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Directions

    Mix flour, Crisco and sugar.

    Put aside a little of this crumb mix for top of pie.

    Combine molasses and water; add baking soda. Combine dry ingredients and liquid mixture.

    Put in unbaked pie crust.

    Sprinkle crumbs on top and bake in 325° oven about 1 hour.
