Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 34 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon shortening, rounded
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 cup molasses (I like a mix of Grandma and Plantation brands.)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup hot water
Directions

1Mix flour, sugar and shortening to form crumbs.

2Save slightly over half for topping.

3Mix eggs, molasses, and 3/4 cup of hot water.

4Add the smaller portion of the dry mixture to this.

5Disolve baking soda in the rest of the hot water and add to molasses/crumb mixture.

6Pour into unbaked pie shell and top with reserved crumb mixture.

7Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.

8Shake when you take it out to see if it is solid.

9Can be served cold.
