  • 3/4 c. corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust, unbaked

Directions

    In a bowl, mix together the corn syrup, molasses, water, soda and egg.

    Reserve about half of this mixture. To the rest, add the flour, butter and brown sugar.

    Mix well and pour into pie crust. Carefully top with the reserved syrup and bake for 25 minutes at 400°. Allow to cool, then chill the pie before serving.
