- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. molasses
- 3/4 c. hot water
- a little ginger, cloves and cinnamon
Directions

1Work the first 3 ingredients together in a bowl.

2In another bowl, add all the remaining ingredients except the water.

3Mix well, then add water.

4Into an unbaked pie shell, combine the crumbs and liquid in alternate layers with crumbs on bottom and top.

5Bake 15 minutes at 450° and then 20 minutes at 350°.
