Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 c. celery, finely chopped
  • 2 medium green peppers, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 tsp. parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-1/2 lb. raw shrimp, cleaned
  • Cooked rice

Directions

    Cook and stir in margarine the onion, green pepper, celery and garlic until onion is tender.

    Remove from heat and stir in tomato sauce, water and seasonings.

    Simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Add more water if needed.

    Stir in shrimp, heat to boiling.

    Cover and cook for 10 - 20 minutes or until shrimp are pink and tender. Remove bay leaf.

    Serve over rice.
