Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 12 oz. raw, cleaned shrimp
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper

Directions

    Cook onion, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender but not brown.

    Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings.

    Simmer, uncovered, 45 minutes.

    Mix cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of water. Stir into sauce.

    Add shrimp and green pepper.

    Cover; simmer until done.
