Ingredients
- 2 lb. raw shrimp
- 1 small green pepper, chopped
- 1/2 c. cooking oil
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 dashes hot sauce
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 c. tomato juice
- 3 c. hot cooked rice
Directions

1Drop shrimp into boiling water.

2Boil 2 to 5 minutes.

3Rinse, drain, peel and devein.

4Saute onions, pepper and celery in oil; add flour and stir well.

5Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings.

6Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.

7Add shrimp and tomato juice.

8Cover and simmer 30 minutes.

9Add frozen peas and cook 10 to 15 minutes.

10Serve over hot rice.
