Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. green pepper
  • 1/2 c. onions, peeled and sliced
  • butter or margarine
  • 2 tsp. flour
  • 2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 c. small frozen shrimp
  • 1/2 c. celery, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • few drops Tabasco
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar

Directions

    Brown green pepper, onions, garlic and celery in butter. Combine flour, sugar, salt and cayenne pepper.

    Add canned tomatoes, bay leaf and Tabasco.

    Simmer all 45 minutes.

    The last ten minutes, add small frozen shrimp.

    Serve over rice.
