Ingredients
- 3/4 c. onion, chopped (1 medium)
- 1 green pepper, finely chopped
- 1/2 c. celery, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. fresh parsley, minced
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. (scant) cayenne pepper
- 1 (7 oz.) pkg. frozen shrimp, thawed
- fluffy rice
Directions

1In a skillet, saute onion, pepper and celery in butter until tender, about 10 minutes.

2Remove from heat and stir in tomato sauce, water, parsley, salt and pepper.

3Simmer 10 minutes.

4Add more water if needed.

5Add thawed shrimp.

6Bring mixture to a boil. Cook, covered, over medium heat for 5 minutes.

7Serve Shrimp Creole over fluffy rice (your own recipe).
