Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. juice from peas and tomatoes
  • 2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 2 c. peas
  • 2 or 3 c. cooked shrimp
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Directions

    Saute chopped onion, mushrooms and celery in 3 tablespoons bacon fat for 10 minutes.

    Add to this mixture the flour, chili powder, sugar and juice of peas and tomatoes; simmer for 15 minutes, then add and heat the remaining ingredients.

    Pour over rice.
