Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1 large chopped green onion
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp. Tabasco
- 1 c. sliced celery
- 2 1/2 c. tomatoes (canned works fine)
- 1 small can tomato paste if you like creole thick
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. thyme (secret ingredient, use more if you prefer)
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 lb. peeled shrimp
Directions

1Saute onion until soft, not brown.

2Add pepper.

3Cook until soft.

4Add celery and tomato, and paste if using it.

5Bring to boil.

6Reduce heat and add seasonings.

7Simmer until shrimp is done, about 8 minutes.

8Do not overcook shrimp.
