Simple Onion Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced into half-moons
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • few dashes hot sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • salt to taste

Directions

    Heat the olive oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat.

    Add onions and cook until translucent, about 8-10 minutes.

    Reduce heat to low and continue cooking for 30-35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are browned and caramelized.

    Remove from heat and stir in mustard, Worcestershire, hot sauce and white pepper; set aside to cool.

    In a medium bowl combine sour cream and mayonnaise.

    Add onion mixture and mix until thoroughly combined; season with salt.

    Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
