- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1 whole Red Onion, Diced
- 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 2 pounds Lean Ground Beef Or Turkey
- 1/4 cups Chili Powder
- 1/2 Tablespoons Ground Cumin
- 1 cup Water
Directions

1In a large skillet, melt butter.

2Saute onions and garlic for 2-3 minutes.

3Add ground meat, and cook, stirring to break up, until browned.

4Add seasonings and water.

5Bring to a simmer.

6Simmer, uncovered for 10-15 minutes over low heat.

7You want the water to evaporate but leave the meat moist and well flavored.

8Taste the meat before you consider salting it.

9I find that it doesnt need salt at all.

10Use in tacos or as filling for beef enchiladas.
