- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 lb. sirloin, cubed
- 1 can beef consomme
- 1/3 c. Burgundy wine
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp. onion salt
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
- 4 c. cooked rice
Directions

1Melt shortening.

2Brown meat.

3Stir in consomme, wine, soy sauce, garlic and onion salt.

4Heat to boiling.

5Reduce heat to low and cook until meat is tender (a crock-pot can be used also). Blend cornstarch and water; boil until thick.

6Pour over meat mixture.

7Pour in rice.
