- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 tablespoons shortening or 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
Directions

1hint if using self rising flour, omit baking powder.

2Cut shortning or butter into flour.

3With a food processor, add flour, salt, baking powder,and pulse.

4Add shortning or butter, and pulse till crumbly.

5Do not over pulse, avoid heating shortning.

6Add milk and mix till combined.

7Add flour as nessary to form slightly stickey dough.

8Do not over work!

9On a flowerd surface with floured hands.

10flatten dough to about 1/2 inch thick.

11Cut biscuits with any cutter, and place on cookie sheet or cast iron skillet.

12(cast iron works best.

13Sides touching for maxium rise.

14Bake at 400 degrees till golden brown, about 30 minutes.

15Serve with gravy or beef stew.
