Ingredients
- 1 medium cabbage, shredded (about 3 lb.)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 medium size green pepper, chopped (optional)
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. white vinegar
- 3/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
Directions

1Combine cabbage, onion and green pepper, if desired, in a large bowl.

2Sprinkle with sugar and stir well.

3Cover and chill for 2 hours.

4Combine vinegar and remaining ingredients in a saucepan.

5Bring to a boil, stirring, until salt dissolves.

6Pour hot vinegar mixture over cabbage mixture.

7Toss well.

8Cover and chill at least 2 hours.

9Serve with a slotted spoon.

10Yields 6 servings.
