  • 5 lbs beef roast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • 1 lb carrot, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 3 stalks sliced celery
  • 2 medium sliced onions
  • 8 small potatoes, peeled and cubed
