  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • few drops flavored oil and food coloring

Directions

    Cook sugar, water and syrup in 2-quart saucepan; stir until sugar dissolves.

    Cook to thread stage (232°) without stirring. Add cream of tartar; beat with wire whip until creamy.

    Add a few drops flavored oil and food coloring.

    Drop from teaspoon onto waxed paper, forming patties (keep pan over hot water).

    Store tightly covered.
