  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 2 c. nuts (pecans)
  • 1 c. coconut

Directions

    Make cake mix as directed on box. Pour 1/2 the batter in a well-greased and floured pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. In microwave, melt caramels, milk and butter; stir until smooth. Pour over first 1/2 of cake. Layer on nuts and coconut. Pour remaining 1/2 of batter over the top and bake for another 20 minutes. Let cool before cutting.
