  • German chocolate cake mix
  • 8 to 10 oz. caramels
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 to 1 c. nuts

    Put half the batter in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan.

    Bake 20 minutes at 350°.

    Melt caramels, butter and milk.

    Spread over cake.

    Sprinkle chips and nuts over cake.

    Pour the rest of the batter on top.

    Bake another 20 minutes at 250°, then 10 more minutes at 350°.
