  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine or butter
  • 3/4 c. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. or more nuts
  • 1/3 c. milk

Directions

    Prepare cake mix according to directions. Pour half into a 9 x 13 greased pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 350°. Melt caramels, margarine and milk together. Pour over baked cake. Add nuts, chocolate chips and remainder of cake batter and return to oven for another 20 minutes at 350°, then 10 minutes at 325°. Serve with whipped cream, Cool Whip or dust with powdered sugar.
