  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 pkg. caramels
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped dates

Directions

    Mix cake according to directions on box.

    Bake 1/2 of mix in 9 x 13-inch pan for 20 minutes at 350°.

    Melt caramels, margarine and milk.

    Pour over baked portion of cake.

    Top with chocolate chips and nuts.

    Pour remaining cake mix on top.

    Bake 20 minutes at 275°, then 10 minutes at 350°.

    Needs no frosting!
