  • 1 c. soft shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. (level) cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. (level) soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Mix well the shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs.

    Sift together the flour, tartar, soda and salt.

    Add dry ingredients to egg mixture. Chill dough in refrigerator.

    Bake dough into small balls.

    Dip in sugar/cinnamon mixture.

    Place on cookie sheet and bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.
