  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Mix together 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs thoroughly.

    Blend flour, tartar, baking soda and salt and stir.

    Shape dough into 1-inch balls.

    Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon.

    Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking pan. Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.

    The cookies puff and then flatten.
