  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

    Cream together first 3 ingredients.

    Sift together and stir in next 4 ingredients.

    Chill the dough.

    Roll into balls the size of walnuts.

    Roll balls of dough in mixture of 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon.

    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake in a 350° oven for 8 to 10 minutes.

    They will puff up at first, then they flatten out with crinkled tops.
